This Sunday, 21 August, we invite you to a historical walk titled “Anniversary of the Battle of Białystok”. Participants will gather at 1 p.m., at the entrance to the Military Cemetery (11 Listopada St.).

Walking route: Military Cemetery – Zwierzyniecka Street – Bema Street – Marjańskiego Street – Suraska Street – Rynek Kościuszki. Duration approx. 90 minutes. Your guide will be Marek Gajewski.

On the day before the anniversary of the events that have gone down in history as the Battle for Białystok, we invite you to the Army Museum in Białystok (7 Kilińskiego Street). On that day we are open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. A large part of our permanent exhibition “Between Two Wars” is dedicated to the events of 1920 where we present the uniforms, equipment and armament of soldiers who took part in the Polish-Bolshevik war.

Marek Gajewski will also be the guide of the historical walk, which will start at 1 p.m. The place where participants will gather is the entrance of the Military Cemetery at 11 Listopada Street. Walking route: Military Cemetery – Zwierzyniecka Street – Bema Street – Marjańskiego Street – Suraska Street – Kościuszki Square. Duration approx. 90 minutes. Participation in the event is free of charge.

Polish Army Day (15 August)

On Polish Army Day we will be working for you in the Museum headquarters (7 Kilińskiego Street) and in the Military Park (3 Węglowa Street). We invite you from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Visiting the exhibitions and participating in all special events is free on that day.
On the programme:
9.30-16.30 – demonstration of military equipment of the 18th Białystok Reconnaissance Regiment (7 Kilińskiego Street);
9.30-16.30 – visiting the Military Park (ul. Węglowa 3)
9.30 a.m. – 4.00 p.m. – educational stand, where games, plays and competitions for children will be held throughout the day ( Armii Krajowej Square);
10.00 – a historical walk through the places of battles in the Battle of Białystok (route: Military Park – Topolanka – Polesie Railway Station – Sienkiewicza Street – Warszawska Street – Kościuszki Square), participants will gather in the Military Park;
11.00 – educational activities for children and youth “Medals and Orders”; applications accepted at the Museum ticket office (7 J. Kilińskiego St., Białystok, 9.30 – 17.00) and by phone (85 741 64 49);
14.00 – 15.00 – an art workshop inspired by the Portrait of Marshall Józef Piłsudski by Ludomir Sleńdziński. Using tracing paper and metalising markers, we will create an original, cartoon interpretation of this cannon. Moderated by: educators from the Sleńdziński Gallery
14.00 – screening of the film about the Polish-Bolshevik war “War of the Worlds” with sign language interpretation ( foreword by M. Gajewski)

Partners of the activity are the 18th Białystok Reconnaissance Regiment and the Sleńdziński Gallery in Białystok.

This Sunday (7 August) we are also working for you during the 33rd Dominican Fair in Choroszcz. We encourage you to visit the MWB stand in the Park next to the Museum of Palace Interiors, where our educators will be waiting from 11 am to 4 pm.

This Saturday (6 August) we would like to invite you to a historical walk titled “Białystok for children”. The participants will gather at 13:00, at the Museum building (7 Kilińskiego Street). Participation in the event is free of charge.

 

Krzysztof Kukliński: “During another walk through the streets of the city, we will take a look at what the city offered its youngest citizens – starting from the times of the Branicki family, through the period of the Partitions of Poland to the inter-war period. The subject will be both schooling and leisure activities”.
