The Falstad Center
The Falstad Center is devoted to research and communication of WW2 prison history and human rights. FC has extended experience in using participatory methodologies in remembrance education and has been partner in multiple cross-disciplinary projects at national and international levels. Falstad is also an research institute.
The Falstad Centre (FC) was established in 2000, on the grounds of the former SS Camp Falstad in Nazi-occupied Norway. During its operation from 1941-1945, more than 4000 prisoners from 15 countries were imprisoned at SS Strafgefangenenlager Falstad.
The role of the Partner will be sharing know-how in the field of remembrance education. FC`s staff will be involved in all project stages, having the real impact on its shape. They will conduct direct activities with the audience in Ekne. They will participate in development of project results: the guide on the method and the audience development strategy.
Ksiaznica Podlaska of Lukasz Gornicki in Białystok
Ksiaznica Podlaska of Lukasz Gornicki in Białystok is a self-government cultural institution of the Podlaskie Voivodeship. Its aim is to provide for society’s informational, cultural and self-educational needs through providing access to library resources. The institution
conducts cultural and educational activities aimed at all age groups, especially children, teenagers and the elderly. It is the largest library in the north-east of Poland. It hosts events important for the development and promotion of culture, as well as promotion of books, lectures, literature meetings and exhibitions.
Participation of Ksiaznica Podlaska in the project is of strategic importance. The cultural activities will be conducted on the housing estates of Białystok, where library branches are located. Library’s educators will be involved in providing direct activities with the audience and the final conference of educators.
