The Army Museum in Białystok is launching a call for applications for the national conference “How to talk to the participants of the cultural events about the war?”, which takes place in Białystok on 7-8 March 2024. The Project Partners are the Falstad Centre and Ksiaznica Podlaska of Lukasz Gornicki in Białystok.
The aim of the conference is to create space for experience exchange in the area of methods of developing knowledge and awareness of historic and modern armed conflicts among the culture audience.
In particular, the following issues will be mentioned:
a) ethical responsibility for presenting war subjects and military collection;
b) bringing reflections among the audience upon the idea of peace in the modern world;
c) historical education and developing democratic attitudes;
d) development of a cultural offer for different age groups, especially the audience aged 30-49.
The conference is aimed at the cultural education practitioners, in particular people working around the idea of the war heritage. Organisers encourage to send applications for the following panels:
I. Good practices in working with audience in the war and military subjects area;
II. Education for developing emphatic attitudes on the basis of historical content.
Other proposals beyond the suggested scope, but still within the main subject of the conference, are welcome. Experts are asked to apply via the ONLINE FORM.
