Utworzono ponad 600 mniejszych i wi\u0119kszych oboz\u00f3w. Wi\u0119kszo\u015b\u0107 z nich tworzy\u0142y obozy pracy dla je\u0144c\u00f3w wojennych oraz przymusowych robotnik\u00f3w pracuj\u0105cych na rzecz niemieckich projekt\u00f3w budowlanych. Zgodnie z nazistowsk\u0105 ideologi\u0105 rasow\u0105, niekt\u00f3re z nich uznawane by\u0142y za mniej warto\u015bciowe od innych. Sowieci, mieszka\u0144cy Europy Wschodniej i Jugos\u0142owianie byli traktowani najgorzej i wielu z nich zmar\u0142o z powodu chor\u00f3b, z\u0142ego traktowania, wypadk\u00f3w i g\u0142odu.<\/p><p>Opr\u00f3cz oboz\u00f3w pracy, zak\u0142adano r\u00f3wnie\u017c wi\u0119zienia polityczne i obozy internowania. Najwi\u0119kszym z nich by\u0142 po\u0142o\u017cony niedaleko Oslo Grini, gdzie w czasie wojny przetrzymywano prawie 20 000 os\u00f3b. Kolejny ob\u00f3z ulokowano w Falstad w Levanger. Za\u0142o\u017cony przez SS w 1941 r., by\u0142 miejscem, gdzie przetrzymywano wi\u0119\u017ani\u00f3w politycznych takich jak komuni\u015bci, zak\u0142adnicy i inne osoby, kt\u00f3re w\u0142adze chcia\u0142y ukara\u0107. Do Falstad wysy\u0142ano wielu wi\u0119\u017ani\u00f3w, g\u0142\u00f3wnie ze Zwi\u0105zku Sowieckiego i Jugos\u0142awii, ale tak\u017ce z Polski i Danii. Og\u00f3\u0142em, w obozie przetrzymywano 4 000 wi\u0119\u017ani\u00f3w z co najmniej 15 r\u00f3\u017cnych kraj\u00f3w. Przewo\u017cono tam r\u00f3wnie\u017c m\u0119\u017cczyzn \u017cydowskiego pochodzenia aresztowanych w 1942 r. w \u015brodkowej Norwegii.<br \/><br \/>Traktowanie wi\u0119\u017ani\u00f3w w Falstad zmienia\u0142o si\u0119 wraz z up\u0142ywem czasu i zale\u017ca\u0142o od ich pochodzenia. Okres pomi\u0119dzy 1942 a 1943 r. by\u0142 szczeg\u00f3lnie z\u0142y dla osadzonych. Zmuszano ich do niewolniczej pracy, poddawano przemocy i torturom.
