Feel free to join the Culture Weekend on the TBS Bacieczki housing estate (28-30 July). Our proposals to spend actively the last weekend of July include: workshops, a historical walk and a cultural picnic. The event has been organised for the inhabitants of the TBS Bacieczki housing estate by the Army Museum together with Ksiaznica Podlaska of Lukasz Gornicki. The activities will be a great opportunity to meet with culture, but also with neighbours. Below, you will find the event’s agenda.

12.00-14.00 Poetic cut and paste – poetic and historical family workshops, moderato: Marcin Koziński
Marcin Koziński (moderator): In the world history, from the Sumerian civilisation until the modern times, humanity has got involved in over fifteen thousand wars, which is about three a year. Two greatest of them in the 20th century are known as the “world” ones. Historians and politicians seek for their reasons in different areas, among others ideological, social, demographic or ethnic ones. Regardless of time, there were banal reasons behind many conflicts. In historical books we can find the “war of the bucket” (1325), the “football war” (1969) or the “war of Parsley” (2002). During the workshops we will discuss the pretexts to declare wars and then we will check if we can keep the memories of them with the use of glue, scissors and old newspapers.
