From next Monday (14 February), we would like to invite you to see the exhibition entitled 'On the 80th anniversary of AK’. The exhibition will be presented at St Konstantin the Great Square in Bia\u0142ystok.

The exhibition commemorates the events of 14 February 1942, when, by the decision of Commander-in-Chief General W\u0142adys\u0142aw Sikorski, the underground Union of Armed Struggle was transformed into the Home Army.<\/p>\n
\u0141ukasz Radulski (author of the exhibition) Established 80 years ago, the Home Army was one of the largest underground independence organisations operating in occupied Europe. The Home Army’s task was to fight for the restoration of independence and to create secret state structures. From the beginning, it was a mass organisation, increasing its ranks by recruiting volunteers.
\nIn addition to descriptions, the exhibition will feature archival photographs from the Bialystok Army Museum’s own collection.<\/p>\nAdditional activities:<\/p>\n
Also from 14 February this year in the building of the Museum (7 Kili\u0144skiego Street) Bia\u0142ystok residents can obtain a one-day magazine entitled „Victory will be your reward”. The commemorative periodical has been prepared by the workers of the Military History Research Centre of the Museum. In addition to historical texts about the Home Army, readers will find archival photographs of Home Army soldiers coloured by M. Kaczmarek, reproductions of documents, and photographs of exhibits from the Museum’s collections. The circulation of the one-day bulletin amounts to 700 copies.<\/p>\n
In the city space (on the building of the Army Museum in Bia\u0142ystok and on the square in front of the Wegierka Drama Theater in Bia\u0142ystok), large banners illustrated with reproductions of watercolors by Walerian Bielecki a.k.a. „Engineer Jan”, a Home Army soldier and a participant in the Warsaw Uprising, will be hung.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
