The project Autism closer. Adapting the educational and cultural offer of the Army Museum in Bia\u0142ystok to the needs of people with autism<\/strong> was implemented with the financial suport from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage within the framework of the Culture Accessible programme.<\/p>

The aim of the project was to include, people who perceive the world through the prism of autism, in to the audience of the Museum.<\/p>

The first project activity was a series of training sessions addressed to employees of the Education and Exhibition Department, like educators, guides and people involved in visitor services. During the expert workshops and meetings with practitioners, the employees acquired knowledge on the needs of people on the autism spectrum and learned examples of effective activities with these audiences. Based on this, an offer dedicated to people with autism was developed, as well as standards for working with these people. As far as possible, free workshops for groups of people on the autism spectrum and inclusive groups, were held until the closure of the institution due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Workshops for students were held in partner schools.<\/p>

The National Autism Society, Department In Bia\u0142ystok was the main partner of the project.<\/p>
