Budow\u0119 g\u0142\u00f3wnego cz\u0142onu kompleksu uko\u0144czono najprawdopodobniej w 1892 r.<\/p><p>Po przej\u0119ciu miasta przez Wojsko Polskie w 1919 r. czasowo bytowa\u0142 tu szwadron zapasowy 10. pu\u0142ku u\u0142an\u00f3w, podczas gdy do wrze\u015bnia 1922 r. cz\u0142on bojowy jednostki przebywa\u0142 na froncie. Szwadron mia\u0142 za zadanie przygotowa\u0107 kompleks na przybycie reszty oddzia\u0142\u00f3w. Ca\u0142y pu\u0142k skoncentrowano w koszarach bia\u0142ostockich w 1924 r. W ich obr\u0119bie znalaz\u0142y si\u0119 murowane budynki dow\u00f3dztwa i uje\u017cd\u017calnia oraz drewniane jednopi\u0119trowe baraki mieszkalne i stajnie. Oficerowie mieszkali w tzw. \u201eblokach oficerskich\u201d (na og\u00f3\u0142 murowanych), a podoficerowie i oficerowie \u017conaci w prywatnych domach po\u0142o\u017conych nieopodal koszar. Same baraki mieszkalne wymaga\u0142y gruntownego remontu i du\u017cych nak\u0142ad\u00f3w pracy, kt\u00f3re musia\u0142y ponie\u015b\u0107 pododdzia\u0142y 10. pu\u0142ku u\u0142an\u00f3w. Koszary by\u0142y stopniowo rozbudowywane, co jednak nie wyczerpywa\u0142o potrzeb pu\u0142ku. Brak funduszy na generalny remont dodatkowo negatywnie wp\u0142ywa\u0142 na stan budynk\u00f3w. W 1938 r. rozpocz\u0119to budow\u0119 bloku koszarowego dla dw\u00f3ch szwadron\u00f3w, jednak inwestycji nie uda\u0142o si\u0119 zako\u0144czy\u0107 przed wybuchem wojny. Uko\u0144czony po wojnie obiekt stanowi obecnie ostatni przedwojenny budynek koszarowy na terenie Polski. W 1989 r. kompleks przej\u0105\u0142 2. Podlaski Pu\u0142k \u0141\u0105czno\u015bci Wojsk Obrony Wewn\u0119trznej. Po tej dacie w koszarach stacjonowa\u0142y kolejno: 25. Pu\u0142k \u0141\u0105czno\u015bci Dow\u00f3dztwa Zgrupowania Jednostek Zabezpieczenia Instytucji Centralnych Ministerstwa Obrony Narodowej (1989-1994), 18. Bia\u0142ostocka Brygada Zmechanizowana im.\u00a0Marsza\u0142ka Edwarda \u015amig\u0142ego-Rydza (1994-2001), 18. Bia\u0142ostocka Brygada Obrony Terytorialnej, 18. batalion Obrony Terytorialnej (2001-2009). Obecnie kompleks u\u017cytkuje 18. Bia\u0142ostocki Pu\u0142k Rozpoznawczy, 25. Wojskowy Oddzia\u0142 Gospodarczy oraz dow\u00f3dztwo 1. Podlaskiej Brygady Obrony Terytorialnej oraz jej 11. batalion lekkiej piechoty.<\/p><p>Na przestrzeni lat koszary przesz\u0142y liczne przebudowy i dostosowanie kompleksu do aktualnych potrzeb. Jednak w\u015br\u00f3d istniej\u0105cych przed wojn\u0105 44 budynk\u00f3w znaczna ich cz\u0119\u015b\u0107 zachowa\u0142a wygl\u0105d z epoki.
